There’s a moment in every workflow where you have a thought, a link, a reference — and nowhere quick to put it. You open a notes app and get lost in folders. You text yourself and forget it’s there. The thought slips away.
We built Myndhavn because we were tired of losing things between the cracks of our tools.
What we built
Myndhavn is a quick capture inbox — available on web, Android, and Apple. No folders. No tags on input. No friction. Just a single stream where everything lands, and a calm triage flow to sort it when you’re ready.
The design principle we kept returning to was: capture should take less than three seconds. Anything slower and you’ll stop using it. That’s it.
What we learned
Building a tool meant to be effortless is surprisingly difficult. Every feature request we considered — categories on capture, rich formatting, integrations — made the app slower to use. We said no to almost all of it.
The hardest no was tagging on input. It’s a natural instinct to organize as you capture. But every tag decision adds friction, and friction kills capture rate. We cut it.
Myndhavn ships without tags on capture. You tag during triage, when you’re in a different headspace. We’ll revisit this when we’re confident we can do it without compromising the speed.
